What this calculator includes
This tool annualizes your regular paycheck and applies the 2026 IRS Percentage Method for Form W-4 employees. It then estimates employee FICA: Social Security, Medicare, and Additional Medicare where the year-to-date wage threshold is crossed.
- 2026 federal withholding schedules for standard and Step 2 W-4 treatment.
- Employee Social Security at 6.2%, up to the $184,500 2026 wage base.
- Employee Medicare at 1.45%, plus 0.9% employer withholding above $200,000 YTD wages.
Why Florida take-home pay is different
Florida does not levy personal income tax. That means a typical Florida W-2 paycheck has federal withholding and FICA deductions, but no state income tax withholding. Your actual take-home amount can still change because of insurance, retirement contributions, wage garnishments, supplemental wages, and your specific W-4 elections.
